Faries Eye-Saver Streamline Cobra Desk Lamp world 1970s fountain pen tip mercantilec. 1940s; The Faries Manufacturing Co. Decatur, Illinois Brass desk lamp designed to prevent eye strain by re directing the light downward and away from the user. This was achieved by way of a flat hood (hence the "cobra" name) that shielded the horizontal light from all 360 degrees around the lamp. This piece is constructed of a dark brass and features streamline accents along the neck towards the base; it is in working condition. 12" H and 11" dia
