WW1 "Guerre" Trench Art Signet Ring love token and so was perceived toDATE: WW1, c. 1916 An incredible WW1 Trench Art signet ring fashioned in aluminium and brass. The navette shaped face has been carved with the word GUERRE (French for War) and the dates '14 and '16, while the shoulders feature hand chased abstract embellishment. Pieces like this would have been made by wounded soldiers as they took time away from the front lines, working with what materials they had to hand brass shell cases and aluminium nose cones
